Job Responsibility
Maintain complete technical control over the design and construction of all Wet Fire (sprinkler, hydrant, pre-action, Ansul) and Dry Fire (detection, voice evacuation) systems.
Review and approve final construction documents, including technical calculations, control schematics, specifications, and schedules to ensure compliance with IBC, NFPA, and Macau regulations.
Review and comment on Combined Builders’ Works Drawings (CBWD) in close association with Structural Engineers to resolve spatial conflicts before installation.
Critically review and comment on contractor shop drawings, material samples, method statements, and technical submissions.
Monitor procurement schedules, Requests for Information (RFIs), potential variations, and contractor schedule compliance to prevent project delays.
Implement detailed inspection systems for on-site/off-site mockups, perform routine site assessments, and attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for critical fire services equipment.
Direct the full Testing and Commissioning process of all fire installations in strict accordance with national standards and guidelines.
Compile comprehensive pre-final and final punch lists, oversee the timely rectification of site defects, and manage the final systems handover.
Verify contractor as-built drawings against actual site works, and review Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals, spare parts lists, and warranty documentation.
Liaise internally with hotel corporate disciplines (Opening/Integration Teams, F&B, Spa, Tech) to incorporate brand and safety standards into the final design.
Build and maintain partnerships with Owners, Consultants, General Contractors (GC), Named Sub-contractors (NSC), public utility companies, and Macau government authorities for utility connections and inspections.
Coordinate and schedule technical training for the Hotel engineering management and operations staff regarding system maintenance.
Job Requirement
Degree in Building Services, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, with expert technical knowledge of both Wet Fire (sprinklers, hydrants, pre-action/Ansul) and Dry Fire systems (detection, voice evacuation).
Thorough understanding of local Macau Fire Services regulations, international building codes (IBC), and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards.
Proven ability to review and comment on complex technical documents, including shop drawings, material samples, calculation sheets, method statements, and Combined Builders' Works Drawings (CBWD).
Experience implementing strict site inspection systems, managing procurement schedules, conducting on/off-site mockup inspections, and attending Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for critical equipment.
Proven track record in compiling pre-final punch lists, overseeing deficiency rectifications, reviewing As-Built drawings/O&M manuals, and coordinating full system T&C for successful handover.
Strong liaison skills to collaborate internally with corporate teams (Operations, F&B, Spa) and externally with General Contractors (GC), Named Sub-contractors (NSC), and Macau government authorities.
